About Abkhazia country The country of Abkhazia has been declared independence on 23 July 1992. Located in Middle East and next to Turkey, Abkhazia has 8,600km² area with Chkhalta as the capital. The official language of Abkhazia is Abkhaz and Russian. Abkhazia is governed by Malkhaz Akishbaia as the Chairman with Temur Mzhavia as the Supreme Council.
